Cylindrical Winding Machine

This machine is primarily used for the precision winding of 18650, 26650, 32650, and 21700/32700 battery cells. The operational process is as follows: Operators manually feed the positive and negative electrode sheets into the winding section, where they are interleaved with the separator. The cells are then wound according to process specifications, followed by automatic application of the termination tape, and finally, the finished cells are automatically discharged.
  • Product Description
    • Commodity name: Cylindrical Winding Machine

    This machine is primarily used for the precision winding of 18650, 26650, 32650, and 21700/32700 battery cells. The operational process is as follows: Operators manually feed the positive and negative electrode sheets into the winding section, where they are interleaved with the separator. The cells are then wound according to process specifications, followed by automatic application of the termination tape, and finally, the finished cells are automatically discharged.

    I. Function Overview

    This machine is primarily used for the precision winding of 18650, 26650, 32650, and 21700/32700 battery cells. The operation process is as follows: Operators manually feed the positive and negative electrode sheets into the winding section, where they are interleaved with the separator. The assembly is then wound according to process specifications, followed by automatic application of the termination tape. Finally, the completed battery cell is automatically discharged from the machine.

    II. Basic Parameters

    1. Space: 1500 mm (L) × 1300 mm (D) × 1500 mm (H) (subject to the actual product);

    2. Power supply: 220 VAC ±5%, single-phase, 1 kW;

    3. Air supply: 5–7 kgf/cm², 100 l/min;

    4. Non-corrosive gases, liquids, and explosive gases;

    5. Color: Supplier's standard color sample (International Warm Gray 1C);

    III. Technical Specifications

    1. Needle diameter: φ4.0mm (customized according to customer requirements);

    2. Diaphragm width: 40–70 mm, with a thickness ranging from 7 to 30 μm;

    3. Electrode width: 40–68 mm, with a thickness ranging from 80 to 280 μm;

    4. Electrode sheet length: 400–3,000 mm;

    5. Tape termination width: 8–60 mm;

    6. Winding Precision: The alignment error between the separator and the negative electrode, as well as between the negative electrode and the positive electrode sheet, is less than ±0.5 mm each.

    Requirements for materials:

    A. The width tolerance of the electrode sheet is less than 0.1 mm;

    B. The "S"-shaped bending error of the electrode sheet is less than 0.5 mm/1000 mm, and there must be no edge warping.

    C. The tower-shaped error of the diaphragm material roll is less than ±0.2 mm, and there must be no edge warping.

    7. Equipment Capacity: 6–10 PPM (dependent on electrode sheet length and manual feeding speed);

    IV. Process Performance

    1. It features a single-roll needle structure, and the diameter of the roll needle is interchangeable.

    2. Manually imported electrode sheets, automatic winding, automatic needle changing, automatic termination tape application, and automatic material discharge;

    3. The adhesive application position can be precisely controlled without tightening the cell; the adhesive application is stable and reliable.

    4. The winding process employs variable-velocity rotation technology for the roller and needle, ensuring that the linear speed of the separator and electrode sheet feed remains relatively constant—thus achieving constant tension throughout the winding procedure and guaranteeing neat, uniform cell winding.

    5. Two rolls of diaphragm material are actively unwound, with tension signals continuously detected in real time by encoders connected to the tension swing arm shaft. These signals are processed by the PLC, which then controls the diaphragm unwinding stepper motor to adjust its speed dynamically in response to tension changes, ensuring stable diaphragm tension throughout the process. Additionally, cylinder-based tension control technology is employed to automatically and smoothly fine-tune the tension during winding.

    6. Diaphragm tension control is shown in the figure:

    7. The aforementioned variable-velocity winding technology, encoder-based tension detection and membrane unwinding speed-following technology, auxiliary cylinder-based automatic tension adjustment technology—all contribute to maintaining an extremely low cell deformation rate.

    8. Equipped with a electrode dust removal device.

    9. The rolled cells show no signs of damage, core extraction, or electrode misalignment.

    10. Features output statistics functionality.

    11. The entire machine operates stably, with reliable control and convenient operation.
